I have four categorical var with three categories, five ordinal var with 5 level, five ordinal var with 7 level, now how to combine these so that I can get ONE dependent variable for further analysis..all variables are measuring same construct..
Possibly apart from your four categorical variables (depending upon whether they are nominal or ordinal) you should be able to create a single variable for further analysis using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to decide which variables to include. You can also double check your scale using a Cronbach's alpha reliability analysis.
There are two ways to construct your scale: either by adding the values of the variables you include together or by using the regression coefficients from the PCA. It is also important to consider sample size.
