When using a two-dimensional detector, Bruker Discover machines can give a two-dimensional "GADDS Frame" that shows intensity as a function of 2theta and chi. Now the software does not have any direct export method, but Bruker offers the tool frm2fram and frame manager to convert the fames to TIFF and JPG images. But they do not work for me. All the TIFF images, although having 16MB of volume, are single color plain images, and JPG option leads to extremely lossy black and white images. Nothing quite publishable. Any ideas?

PrintScreeen works, but the quality is severely reduced. In GADDS you have the option to set your image pixel count tp 1024x1024 or 2048x2048, but the software only shows a zoomed out version of the image, 512x512 or something like that. You cannot maximize the window either. Therefore getting a pritscreen is practically useless.

I don't know any software for doing something like that straightforwardly. You can try saving data to an ascii file (file-exchange is the program for doing it) and working out with origin or any other plotting program.
I would suggest using XRD2DScan software () that can read GADDS frames in its full resolution.

Use the program fit2D on your TIFF image. The TIFF is lossless. Fit2D provides a variety of false color schemes, linear and logarithmic scaling, and high quality postscript output. There is extended documentation online . See the fit2d homepage

Thank you Dr. Smilgies. I tried using fit2D, but the final images I got were still far from the quality shown on GADDS itself. I tried to play with minimum and maximum of z-scale, but still not very successful.
I'm not sure if I fully understand this. When Bruker converts the image, isn't it supposed to include a false color representation? Otherwise, what is the point of converting to tiff format in the first place?
