We are coating cobalt zinc ferrite oxide nanoparticles with chitosan and we want to confirm that how much chitosan is coated on the nanoparticles. Please suggest us a complete methodology for coating the chitosan around the nanoparticle and the suitable techniques to characterize the coating %. I have done a zeta potential and the results were like for cobalt zinc ferrite oxide nanoparticles(-25mV) and for chitosan-coated nanoparticles ZP(-14mV). What exactly this ZP values represent. I want to completely coat the nanoparticles with the chitosan. Looking forward to some suggestions.
I recommend XPS conjugated with AFM or SEM. XPS is the best methods because its limit in the range from 5 to 7 nm.
