Dear Dr. Sarmad,

I am believe that ‘authentic’ journal is one that aims to publish research conducted in good faith for the purposes of informing the readership and engaging them in scientific discussion. This is as opposed to so-called ‘fake’ predatory journals, which are more designed to make money on researchers’ pressure to publish by charging for publication and setting very low standards while retaining the trappings and finery of scientific publishing.

Another point to consider that is part of the question, you could check the journal , However, being included in a big serious commercial citation database, like say Thomson Web of Knowledge or Elsevier Scopus, and DOAJ is a decent base-level indication that a journal is ‘real' . Furthermore, the journal must be recognized by Ministry of Higher Education.

I suggest going by established society journals like IEEE and ACM. Also how reputable the editorial board members are. Third point the key references that you have used, where are they published. Cheers

The choice of the journal should take into account several factors, mainly thinking that the area in which the work was developed should be in accordance with the focus of the publication of the chosen journal. In this sense, the most experienced masters always say that "the best scientific journal to publish is one in which your work will be read by people who are interested in the type of content".

I believe that some search tools may help, although many area-specific journals you want to publish are ignored in the suggestions.

I forgot to add a point which is important. When you find an appropriate journal please do not omit to get a look on Aims and Scope of the target journal (that are mentioned on the website - About Journal )and on article already published there. Because every journal has its particularities and characteristics.

Another important point is missed:

Require no money or affordable money as Article Processing Charge.

Due to this reason only, I do not try to submit my article in many journals.

in my opinion i prefer journal that be Q1 and in JCR

Publishing in (good) IEEE journals has become quite a political game in last 5-7 years, and often gives a clear view how academic politics works. So my suggestion will be NOT to waste your time with IEEE unless you have a strong backup (for example, if your professor is very famous in that area, or known to the editor of that journal) . Instead, you can go for the ACM, Springer, Elsevier journals with good impact factors of course (if you are from CS, impact factor does not matter much these days, but in other fields it still matters).

Elsevier, Springer, and IEEE have a journal finder where you introduce the title and abstract of your paper.

The Elsevier journal finder shows the impact factor, review speed, OpenAccess fee, and other metrics (https://journalfinder.elsevier.com/).

The Springer suggester shows the impact factor, average review speed, and acceptance rate (https://journalsuggester.springer.com).

The IEEE recommender shows the impact factor, if it has open access, average time of publication (http://publication-recommender.ieee.org/home).

There are other journals finder such as:

• Journal / Author Name Estimator (http://jane.biosemantics.org/)
• Edanz - Journal Selector (https://www.edanzediting.com/journal-selector)
