I have bought glacial acetic acid and the bottle labeled as glacial acetic acid but I want to be sure about its purity. How to check if there any water present or not.
Determine the freezing (melting) point (pure acetic acid ~ 16.7 C) or alternatively you could titrate it against a base. I recall we did this in college chemistry class (determined the freezing point of an unknown concentration of acid solution to determine purity/conc). You can probably find examples using a keyword search online.
Glacial acid contains 1% or less water. I am not sure if the Karl Fisher titration works under those conditions. However you might find this article from 1921 interesting:
