I used ICP-MS for Pd quantity (wt %) in catalyst Pd/SiO2. i digested 12.9 mg of sample in 6 ml of triacid mixture and made up volume to 50 ml with dist.water. From the 50 mL solution, I took 200 ul of solution and makeup with 25 mL volumetric flask and used for analysis. Moreover, i used 500, 1000, 2000 ppb standards of Pd. I got ICP-MS value of Pd/SiO2 is 231.5719. How to calculate weight % of Pd? Kindly provide your valuable suggestions. If any further information required please let me know. For your reference i attached icp-ms results please check the same and suggest me.Thank you

The ICP-MS gives you a C(Pd) = 231.6 ppb in the sample you analysed, right?
You have a dilution factor of 25/0.2 = 125 X in that sample. The real concentration of the digestion solution is thus 231.6 x 125 = 28950 ppb = 28.95 ppm (mg/L).
You know that all the Pd came from the solid sample and is contained in 50 mL:
Total amount of Pd in 50 mL = 28.95 x 50/1000 = 1.448 mg.
1.448 mg came from 12.9 mg of sample, thus the mass% of Pd = 1.448/12.9 x 100 = 11.2%.

The clearest explanation of the calculation is, according to me, supplied by Mario S. I will add only that the "ppb" units, "ppm" and so on, especially for the liquid phase, they are not permitted in the Czech Republic according to the relevant standard. For example, the "ppb" unit, for the liquid phase, should be expressed as ng /mL, ie. nanogram per milliliter, and there is no misunderstanding in the case of solid phase concentrations (nanogram/g) when converted from element concentrations in the calibration curve.

I have used icp-ms to determine the Co. I have diluted 1 gm of sample to 25ml of solvent and further, I have diluted the sample 200 times and the concentration I got is 14365305.23 ppb. So now how can I convert it into %.
