Dear Ravi, you will get only rough estimation for formed phases from the diagram. Instead, considering dilution calculate the Cr and Ni equivalent for your resulted weld chemistry and trace it on diagram. I would like to ask you for use of WRC-1992 diagram for the same if possible as that consider ferrite number not %.
The schaeffler diagram is only considering the effect of alloying elements and not thermodynamic effect which may influence your prediction. This is what i understand from this diagram......
@Dinesh Rathod sir the cr and nickel equivalent of the weld is 10.5 and 0.66 respectively, how to put this in WRC-1992 diagram. sir can you please suggest me any article for better understanding of the WRC-1992 diagram.
This simply suggested that the chemistry is highly prone to form martensite.......the WRC/Schaeffler/Delong diagrams are prepared specifically for stainless steels........so they can be effectively used for SS only.....for rest we can just predict.......you can use micro-structure/micro-hardness for identification of phases and confirmation/validation for quantification point of view can be done with XRD......people hear are using XRD with great confidence for quantification of phases.....
