How to calculate the life of the brake pad based on the it's wear . For example , the brake pad is subjected to multiple braking events at various temperatures. At all the temperature level, wear displacement value ( How much amount of pad is worn out) is available. By using those data & using the actual thickness of the brake pad, how to calculate the life of the pad ? The pad is used in passenger car.

On a trivial level: If you know the "wear coefficients" at different temperatures, you only need the normal (or frictional) force transmitted in one braking process to calculate the wear in one braking process and thus the brake pad life.

The life of the brake discs depends on many different variables, such as the number of braking forces, the amount of braking force and the braking conditions. However, it is theoretically guaranteed to provide an average wear rate of 80.000-100.000 km or 10% in thickness reduction provided that it is continuously controlled by the manufacturers. The low wear of the discs and pads in the braking system not only ensures their long service life, but also contributes to the reduction of wear-related emissions. In this way, economic losses are prevented.
