I am using the IPIP Neo-120 and want to calculate how much personality diversity exists in the team. Is there a way I can calculate diversity and make a percentage to assign it meaning i.e. whether it is too high or low? This inventory uses a 5-point Likert scale.

I know standard deviation is one way to look at personality diversity but how can I convert it into a standard percentage where we can even compare teams? I don't think I can make a percentage by dividing the SD with the maximum possible SD for a 5-point scale (2.83 I think?) to kind of give it meaning whether it is too high or low. Another idea I had was to consider the SDs for each item and turn them into z-scores and then percentiles.

I feel a bit lost on how to tackle this and would appreciate any help, thank you!
