I've been reading some old and new papers on how to compute beta diversity using incidence or abundance data from several assemblages/communities.

For my data, I am interested in exploring the methods developed by Marti J. Anderson, K. E. Ellingsen and B. H. McArdle (2006), Ecology Letters, 9: 683–693, on the use of multivariate dispersion as a measure of beta diversity.

If I am not wrong, some of these methods are implemented in PRIMER, or e-PRIMER now.

Do you know if these methods are also available in any R package?
