Hi! So I'm currently studying the diversity difference between 2 ecosystems. I ran a Shannon-Wiener test on site 1 and site 2 and found the indices of 1.525 and 2.165 , respectively. I have done some research regarding what these numbers and decided to convert these numbers to effective number of species as described by this page here: http://www.loujost.com/Statistics%20and%20Physics/Diversity%20and%20Similarity/EffectiveNumberOfSpecies.htm

The effective number of species of site 1 and site 2 are 4.595 and 8.715 equally-common species, respectively.

I also do a Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to further test whether or not the increase in the indices is significant. I used this test because the datasets are confirmed to be non-parametric by Shapiro-Wilk test, and in my case, these datasets are paired.

Can someone confirmed to me that what I'm doing is accurate? Thank you so much!
