It has been already reported that the sample has an inversion parameter that varies depending on the quenching temperature.
However, for a sample made in a particular quenching temperature, I want to find out how to calculate this value of inversion parameter from any experiments like XPS or XRD or any other mode.

The inversion parameter is the fraction of divalent ions in the octahedral sites in the spinel structure.
So if you apply XRD analysis you must have metallic ions characterized by very different scattering lenghts in order to determine the distribution of the different element in tetrahedral and octahedral sites.
Otherwise, if you have neighbouring atomic species (for example Fe and Co) you must use neutron diffraction (some years ago, I calculated the inversion parameter in CoFe2O4 by using neutron diffraction [J. Phys.: Condens. Matter 23 (2011) 426004]).
To my knowledge you can also use Mossbauer spectroscopy.
X-ray or neutron diffraction followed by refinement of the occupancies against the Bragg intensities.

there is a method, established by P. Poix (P. Poix, Bull. Soc. Chim. Fr. 2 (1965) 1085e1087), to calculate very simply the lattice constant of spinel oxides according to their cationic distribution. The initial paper of P. Poix is old and probably difficult to find, but you can find the formula in the attached document (Solid State Sciences, vol. 10 (n° 5). pp. 550-556).
