I have performed a micro scratch test on my sample. after the end of the test, the software provides various values such as FN, Ft and Fd. How can I extract the friction coefficient using these factors? Looking forward to hearing community. Thanks in advance!
Fn is the applied load, but I don't know which one is the friction force(Ft or Fd I guess). When you know which one is the friction force, you can get the COF.

Yes, you are right. But at microscale conditions, like AFM and SFA or SFB measurements, COF is defined as the slope of the Fs-Fn curve.

If you can share the values of FN Ft and Fd with the information about tribopair. I might be able to deduce which one is friction force. Please make sure Ft is not frictional torque, as some machines use it to get COF. If you have a POD or four ball tester made by DUCOM, they generally use frictional torque values to calculate COF.

Thank you for writing on the topic. Actually, I am trying to deduce the COF from scratch. The machine does provide COF but not individually. That's why I would like to calculate COF individually. So, that I could correlate it with POD. So, it would be nice if you could share any formula which usually used for such calculation. Thanks for taking the time to answer this question. Regards
