Have you ever got the cell culture from a tooth? We are trying to do it, but all the time we get contamination. What should be done to avoid the growth of bacteria and fungi?

I'm not sure how you are handling the tooth to extract cells. However, when we have isolated cells from heavily infected tonsils, we found rinsing the tonsils in 10x pen and strep before isolating cells and then washing the cell suspension in 10x pen and strep before resuspension in medium supplemented with 1x pen and strep for culture was very effective at preventing bacterial growth
