Getting you manuscript back with staggering reviewer comments is a rather frustrating experience. What are your personal tips and tricks to avoid rejection?

Adhere to authors writing guidelines and have your paper peer reviewed.
From my experience, you must first know the direction of the Journal, read the recent articles in this Journal carefully. I think the main factor in accepting or rejecting is the Editor. You should know the Editor's think in publishing in this time, then follow the trend. For example, some Editors need new methods, while others need more explanation. Moreover, be careful with the other requirements, such as the aim and scope of the Journal, readability and writing style, and new valid of findings, added value to the Global community, limitations, and contributions.
Write it well and stick to the rules of scientific writing - some describe them as the Ps and Qs. Read the Instructions and target the correct journal. There are plenty of publications on why reviewers reject submitted articles so if there is a recurring issue of denial, read these papers and learn from them.
Don't be disheartened as many articles that are rejected by one journal are accepted by others especially if the reviewers' comments are addressed. Ultimately the only way to improve your standard of writing is to keep on writing,

I think that occasional paper rejection is inevitable. The key is to reduce the frequency of rejections by good writing and appropriate journal selection. For improving your writing, you need to read and write as many scientific papers as you can because practice makes perfect. For selecting proper journal, you need to find the journal whose readers may find the major contribution of your article interesting.

There is no way you can avoid rejection. Is like doing high-volume surgery and not having complications. One of my teachers used to say, the only surgeon that does not have complications is the one that does not have an operation.
The same applies to publishing.
Read instruction of authors very well and follow it in your manuscript. Also editing the English of your manuscript by native English editor.
