We have insect mortality number as well as mortality percentage , but while considering chi square test which should calculate either number of insect died or its mortality percentage..kindly do suggest...thanking you
You should define your variable unequivocably. Some examples: 1) larval mortality 48 h after treatment; 2) adult mortality 24 h after treatment; 3) mortality of nymphal stages 3 + 4 72 h after treatment.
You should have mortality of the defined variable in the control (i.e. absence of treatment) with the same time frame (i.e. 24, 48 or 72h).

Chi square test takes frequencies and compare them. In this case, you would need to compare the frequency (number of cases, not percentage) of no-dead insects with the one of dead insects.
