I am trying to determine the niche overlap between two plant species and I have 7 variables 2 of which are categorical. I'm using Broennimann et al. method via ecospat package in R environment. As you know, we don't use Principal component analysis for categorical variables nor do we use discriminant canonical analysis for continuous ones. How can I proceed?

Hi, you can use the NMDS (NonMetric Multidimensional Scaling) method. This method discriminates the variables related to each species well.
