I am using wet method to fabricate cathode for a lithium ion capacitor.

The active materials are AC and LFP, plus AB as conductive additive and PVDF as binder (wt. ratio of 0.25:0.75:0.1:0.1 respectively).

I mixed these materials using stirring magnets over night and coated it using Dr. Balding technique (~ 100 micron thick).

My film was dried in oven initially @ 85 C. film was extremely cracked both two times at this stage. First time I suspected if the slurry was not mixed properly so I switched from using pestle and mortar to stirring magnet mixing. But I got severe cracks again.

If you have come across such a problem and have any tips, I would be grateful if you can share it with me here.

Cheers,

Roya
