I want to measure the maximum electric field strength in a microstrip filter. In meshing properties, I am using "automatic". At desired frequency, I added the electric field monitor. I noticed that electric field strength depends on the number of tetrahedrons. Higher the tetrahedron, the higher the electric field strength. So for the same device, with a different number of tetrahedrons, we get different values of the electric field. So I want to know how accurately we can compute the electric field.
I expect that the electric fields are very high near corners, but are averaged over tetrahedra, and the more tetrahedrons you have the higher the peak fields averaged over a tetrahedron because the whole tetrahedron can be more in the high field region.
This may not be the answer. Is it only near eges/corners that this happens, or everywhere?
