Hi Matt, not in the African context, but in Iran, I've seen a leopard killed by porcupine quill wounds (of course later due to infection). But I haven't seen or heard of any other scenarios. 

Hi Matt, I've come across at least a couple publications where leopards were killed by baboons (although male baboons may be larger than 25 kg).

In the below study, 4/11 predation attempts on baboons resulted in the leopard being killed.

This just makes me ask more questions. How did the duiker do it and what was the age/sex class of the cheetah? I'd be happy with the reference. As far as primates are concerned (not Carnivora I realize), red colobus often mount an active defense against chimpanzees but I can't recall any case of a chimp being killed - not even in a fall.

Yes the porcupines were one we had thought of (but are still looking for publications on this), but I'd cleaforgotten about those baboons Esmarie.  Glenn, the cheetah was a very experienced adult female of about 11 years, and it appears her belly was slit with a kick (those hooves are sharp)!

Thanks, Matt. Re the baboons: depending on the taxon adult male baboons may approach 45kg and they usually confront leopards in groups of 2 or 3. But one of them is enough to deter a cheetah.

My grandfather knew of a case where a lioness was killed by a puff adder bite - 1953 in Zambia.

Thanks Aleks. We are focusing more on prey species, but you are right of course, snakes kill predators regularly (Gina a lioness from Addo Elephant Nat Park was killed earlier this year by snake bite).

Maybe you can do a search on Youtube? I think you will find a couple of them, because Big5 searches film everything like paparazi... Maybe it can help you?
