But I have reviewed a few papers in which they have mentioned, if an optimized crushing and magnetic separation in a sequence of sieving, crushing and magnetic separation can be done, and decease the size of EAF slags to fine particles 0-10mm, then by calibrated magnetic drum, can be separated up to 10% and more!!

Now, maybe the question can be; if we crush the EAF Slag to that fine sizes, then what Fe combinations can be separated by magnetic drum? Maybe some Fe oxides in combination with SiO2 and CaO or Al, are able to be separated by magnetic field, not only Fe (as scrap Iron)?

Do you know any paper, who has studied about the required magnetic intensity for separation of each chemical combinations and phases of the EAF slag?

The maximum content of Fe in stainless steel slag is 3% after magnetic separation.
