Is that a long-shot?

We have a CRISPR-Cas9 deletion rat that I find sketchy with our phenotyping. According to the company we got them from, they sequenced a region that shows a ~90 base pair deletion at the gene of interest.

Of course, you can't be sure about off-target cuts so I'm concerned about a snip in the wrong spot. I'm doing back-crosses to get any potential errors out, but the colony had 7 founders and I think they may have all been different. We think this because we will have changes in PCR results (odd but yes could possibly be due to technical errors) but also expression of a functioning protein that is supposed to be deleted given that our PCR indicated that the gene is deleted. That's my big concern there.

Anyways, I would like suggestions for companies and approximate costs to check for off target deletions in my rat model.

Thank you
