I need to isolate RNA from the tissue sample. The procedure is given like "add 1 volume of 70% ethanol to the lysate, and mix well by pipetting". How much ethanol should I add?
Hi Suba
1 volume means the equal quantity (more or less) to the volume of the sample, your lysate.
fred
Just take -approximately- the volume of your sample, ad an equal volume of a solution that is 70% ethanol and 30% water.
Thank you Mr. Frederic and Mr. Emmanuele for your answers. I am clear now.
if my tissue is 30 mg and i added 600 microliter to it then took supernatant , then i added i volume ethanol 70% , it s 600 microliter is that right??
I agree.
