It depends on the temperature. If your calcination is only for dehydrating the talc, you can use any crucible. However, if the temperature is so high that magnesium carbonate is decomposed, then you cannot use glazed porcelain crucibles or quartz glass crucibles. There remain chamote crucibles, crucibles made of Al2O3 ceramics, SiC ceramics and a few other ceramic materials and crucibles made of platinum.
