I want to study the effect of sucrose level at different levels in solid state fermentation in a tray bioreactor.There are lot of literature available on flask experiments but I am not getting exact protocol for tray bioreactor experiments.I want to know the amount of sucrose for its growth and what can be probable levels I can use in my experiment.
N.T.MARKAND: What is your substrate. How much of a C-source 50 g of substrate contain and how much can be utilized by A. niger? Without this basic information nobody can give reliable answer to your question.

Citric acid production from sugar cane bagasse through solid state fermentation method using .....rate of citric acid g/kg out of untreated sugarcane bagasse is 75.45 based on the consumed sugar and a yield of 15.1 g/kg of sugarcane was achieve per day. Application of sodium hydroxide and acid pre-treated sugarcane bagaase increased the production of citric acid in such a fashion that the production rates were 97.81/kg and 87.32 g/kg of sugarcane bagaase, respectively, compared to sodium hydroxide and untreated sugarcane bagasse.
