I want to measure very low longitudinal strains in a shaft (of the order of few micro-strain). How can I measure that If I want to make my own load cell and do the measurement.
Load cells are used to measure force. You actually want to measure very small strain accurately, well for that you can use stain gauges with wheat stone bridge ... You can get help on selecting and installing stain gauges from GOOGLE. and that would really be a great option I guess. Your feedback will also be appreciated.
Thank you Faisal for adding your answer. Actually I want to know about physical construction of miniaturized load cells which are used to measure loads of few milligrams or strains of order of say 0.5 micro-strain.
