Hi,

I have to study the contact of a an elastic punch over a rigid plane in Abaqus. The indenter is a cylinder so the shape of the contact area is circular. The plane is large enough to be defined as infinite. I apply a negative gravitionnal normal load.

I am using this simple case to validate my way of defining contact properties, interaction definition and contact controls.

I would like to compare my results to an existing analytical solution. I have been looking in KL Johnson Contact Mechanics and in some articles but I can't find strictly the same case. It is a receding contact (openings exist on the edge of the contact area) but the parts don't have the same shape. 

Does anyone know which case of receding contacts I can use as a reference ?
