I would like to know how long does it take for surface protein expression after treating the cells with growth hormone or any other peptides if you perform western blott or immuno histochemistry.

Can you see the short term effect immediately after treating the cells with GH (growth factors) in 2 hr or 3 hrs.. or the long term treatment for 24 or 48 or 72 hrs have more pronounced surface expression with these treatments?

Also is it the same case with the peptide hormones?

When i look at the effector proteins such as PKA/PKB i can correlate the effect through Western blott in few hours per say 2 hr with the Growth factors, but the surface protein expression took 24 or 48 hrs can anyone of you have observed something similar?
