Hi RG,
I have the following problem:
Two inlets, one inputing a solution with known concentration and the other inputing a phosphate buffer. The two inlets converge into a single duct (Y junction) with laminar flow with known velocity. I'm looking for an equation (or at least a way to find it) for the concentration at steady-state in a distance X from the junction. Puttint it differently: how long the path needs to be to dilute the two solutions? How unaccurate would be to approximate as a simple 1D diffusion problem, solve it using Fick's law, and estimate the concentration along the way linking the velocity and time?
My setup is a microfluidic system:
Inlet 1: bsa bovine serum albumin (BSA) 4.516e-6 mol/L
Inlet 2: phosphate buffer pH 7
Inlet flow: 0.125 mL/h
Thank you,
Best regards.
