How long can I keep my prepared sample in a fridge before adding phenol/chloroform and subsequently going ahead to extract DNA from it?

I am currently in the process of extracting DNA from microalgae using the CTAB extraction procedure. I have completed the preliminary steps but had to pause the procedure after adding my CTAB extraction buffer and incubating it at 65°C for over an hour due to other pressing activities. I wonder how long I can keep the sample in the fridge before continuing with the next step of the extraction procedure.
