I used FFPE samples to extract RNA using FFPE RNA purification kit, Norgen and run Nanostring. The RNA qualities were not good, but the results were ok.

I used fresh cells media and extracted the Mir has from spent media, first you need to use phenolic extraction to concentrate about 50ml of spent media, the extraction of Micro RNA was done using Nirvana kit Paris. Then using Nanostring system, minimum concentration should be 30ng per microliter.

The performance was great.
