There are a number of parameters for SAW design that will affect the impedance and matching of the device to the power source.

I would like to get a better understanding of how these work and interact with each other.

For instance number of IDT pairs will increase the capacitance, and electric losses. So I would reason the aperture and electrode overlap increases/decreases this also depending on value, but what about the overall height of the IDTs and how does this play a role?

I would like to know what I could achieve in terms of matching the device impedance before attaching a matching network.

I am hoping that somebody could perhaps point me to a good source for design of SAW devices, and how the various parameters interact, to create the impedance value and what one can achieve with adjustment of the IDT design, including materials as well as structure.
