There are different methods for implementing reliability centered maintenance. Various publications and book chapter are available on this. However, the following seven steps are one of the basic approaches.
1: Selecting equipment for RCM analysis from criticality of risk, cost and productivity
2: Define the boundaries and function of the systems that contain the selected equipment.
3: How many ways the system can fail (failure modes)
4: Identify the root causes of the failure modes
5: Assess the effects of failure for example from Failure, mode, effect and criticality analysis (FMECA) perspective
6: Select an appropriate maintenance plan for taking care of each failure mode eg through preventive maintenance including inspection, preventive maintenance with time/usage based interval or with condition monitoring etc.
7: Implement and then regularly review the maintenance plan selected

I have interested in implementing of RCM in industrial units (Food and Dairy industry) in Iran. because this method is the new approach and have not used in production units in Iran. probably, my work study will be learning of RCM in future. I have very happy academic connection for using your experience.
There are lots of publications on the RCM implementation. Each industry and oragnization's are unique and therefore, you just cannot copy someone's and implement it. First understand the RCM philosophy and approach, based on which your own approach needs to be developed. However, the management's total support is a must, followed by training the RCM team and selecting one pilot area for implemetation. Once the expertise is gained, you can go in for the whole organization. However, you should also be aware of the problems and difficulties associated with this implementation. RCM is very time consuming and needs resources, besides others. You may go through:
