Fishing can be considered a STEAM occupation because, especially in commercial fishing, it incorporates elements of Science (understanding fish behavior, oceanography, sustainable practices), Technology (using sonar, GPS, advanced fishing gear), Engineering (design of fishing vessels, net systems), Art (navigating currents and locating fish schools), and Mathematics (calculating catch quotas and optimizing routes) depending on the specific role within the industry.
Meghna is right!!! There is a university program called "Fisheries Science" and professionals called "Fisheries Technologist," etc. The backbone of fishing is technology, the technique of catching fish. Even the local knowledge/know-how of the communities and Indigenous Peoples uses technology, unknowingly many are based on science. And of course, science and technology are critical to planning and practicing fishing (sustainable development) projects.
