It is known that during the transition regime the interfacial tension is dominant. By increased surfactant concentration decreases the interfacial tension. This aids increase in frequency of droplet generation. I am looking for explanation on this phenomenon.

It could be that the increase surfactant decreases the droplet size. If you feed flow is constant then this will increase the number of droplets because the total mass has to remain the same. Can you measure the droplet size?

- Thank you for your comments. Is this phenomenon restricted to transition regime only? I have one more connecting question to even John Francis Miller . Considering that surfactant reduces the surface tension and this phenomenon is well understood. But in squeezing and dripping regime we do not see this effect. What other forces come into play which supresses these surface tension effects in these regimes?
