in this work i use the standard protocol in extraction& good sampling and use chloroform and twice wash with ethanol 75% but i have phenol contamination (low 260/230 ratio)
You can try converting the phenolic contamination into counter salt using sodium hydroxide. Otherwise, try to add a reagent that reacts with the phenol but not with the other components.
The easiest solution would be to do more chloroform washes. Chloroform dilutes phenol and 2 washes after precipitation with ethanol should be enough. You should precipitate with ethanol after each wash so you do not lose your sample.
