How I calculate the mean effective pressure of cylinder in diesel engines. please explain also..
The mean effective pressure(mep) is a usefull relative engine performance measure and is obtained by dividing the work done per cycle by the cylinder(s) total displaced volume per cycle.
Mean effective pressure is hypothetical pressure, which is thought to be acting on the piston throughout the power stroke.
MEP in bar=(power in KW x 60) / (L xA x(N/n) x No. of cylinder x100)
Where, L=stroke length
A= c/s area
N = Rotational speed of engine RPM
n= number of revolutions required to complete one engine cycle

The formula below is used for calculation mean effective pressure with this i have some questions:
1 : is the mean Effective pressure constant? if no, what is the value that is usually provided by the manufacture on the datasheet?
2: is the indicated torque of a diesel engine constant?, from the equation below it will be dependent on the MEP

In My case an doubt i have placed the pressure sensor in the engine and using it i am measuring the mean pressure so can use above all equation to find out the work done per cycle if i have data of change in volume.
You need to know either effective power for each cylinder or torque produced. Either way you'll need to know displacement volume for the cylinder.
