Theoretically, half-life according to first order kinetic model, is independent of concentration, then how the application rate of pesticide in soil is correlated with DT50?
Thank you so much for valuable information. According to first order kinetic equation, half life is independent of concentration. Then will dissipation vary with application rate as well ??
in principle, the application rate and the dissipation DT50 are not correlated. However, there could be factors that are dependent on the application rate (especially if this gets very high). For instance, if the dissipation would be driven by biodegradation there could be a limit to the degradation capacity, the same if the applied pesticide is toxic to the microorganisms that are responsible for the degradation.
