I have some endophytic fungal isolates i would like get the phylogenetics and i would like to use DNAzol for extraction of the DNA but am not sure how good it is. Any one used it?
If you extract DNA using DNAzol, there are chances of higher amount of proteins coming in your final DNA preparation as this method demands much careful separation of phases. You may instead try any spin-column protocol.
We are studying a fungal phytopathogen and have seen good results using a spin column protocol (MPBio, I believe) to extract DNA from infected tree root samples.
