Hey guys following difficulties i am facing for the geometry and the parameters which I want to know are:
1.how does one define the porous zone in Ansys Fluent and what boundary condition should I give for the porous zone while importing from meshing software?
2.How should i assign the const temp to the porous media ?
actually a have drawn square pipe and i did volumetric mesh for that and i have created the material point inside the pipe and named that as porous zone & i have given one side as inlet,other one is outlet &rest of the four side as wall but when i am importing this file in fluent and after defining the porous zone in cell zone conditions i am getting the same output parameters as the input so please help me to resolve this issue.
yes Rajesh actually what is happening is when i am giving 10m/s velocity as input parameter a am getting same velocity as output and also the pressure drop reading are not coming properly so whether i commited mistake in geometry or what ? because what i did is i meshed the pipe volumetrycally and i assingned the material point inside it and named as as porous zone and i am defining that zone as porous in fluent but struggling a lot in getting the results so if you have any idea what should i do for that so please help me out
Hi Nikhilesh, can you be a bit more clear, latter part . Sorry i didn't get your question. I think you know how to include porous zone into the simulation domain through FLUENT, i.e. in cell zone conditions. Where you have to define the inertial and viscous terms.

I understand your mistake lies in defining your material point which you named it as 'porous zone'. Material point would be the working fluid based on your problem (air, nitrogen etc.). I would suggest creating a separate part which defines the porous region would suit your case.
You are not getting any pressure difference because your porous region is not being defined correctly; hence no pressure difference at the inlet and the outlet. Monitoring pressure at the inlet and the outlet would be a good validation in your case.

I have a question, How can identify and adjust the interfacial boundary condition for the turbulent intensity and dissipation of the pleated air filter media interface. Note that, I utilize a model of fluent RNG-K/Epsilon model with the enhanced wall treatment.
First thing start with your geometry set the fluid zone and porous zone. If you have multible fluid zone tray to merrage them to avoid the contact region and interfaces.
In fluent just set the porous zone under cell zone with their parameters.
