I am doing my thesis work on different types of lateral resisting system.I am planning to conduct pushover analysis to determine performance of the building through hinge formation and time history analysis to study other parameters.
I would like to know whether the increase in base shear determine the building performance , weather good or bad.
Is there any relation between the base shear obtained from time history and that obtained from pushover analysis

One way to measure performance of a lateral system is the pushover analysis as you intend to do.
In this approach, you distribute the base shear due to the design loading (I think seismic or wind load in your case) at each floor level. Then uniformly increase these loads until the system collapses. The factor over the design base shear is the strength reserve ratio (RSR), which is a measure of how good the lateral system is.
