If I am using two different electrolytic plating cell, i.e. difference in anode size, cathode size, distance between electrodes, tank size, and plating with same electrolyte, how do I compare the results obtained from each of them. Is there any parameter(s) that normalizes the cell features ?
If you have a known article, do let me know, I will read it.

In plating there are two or three types of current distribution - cell design is responsible for primary current distribution
1. as a plater start with a Hull cell experiment
2. do the trowing power testing
3.depending on the shape of the object to be plated - decide whether you need Barrel/ ordinary cell assembly

As Dr. Jaroslav Kotowski mentioned above, it is very important to compare the coating samples obtained at the same CATHODIC current density or CATHODIC potential. However, there is a difference if you use for electrodeposition potentiostatic method or galvanostatic method. So, I suggest to run both electrodeposition processes and then compare the results. If the industrial process requieres agitation of the electrolyte, so use rotating electrode for laboratory experiment. But....there is a difference depending on the shape of the electrode. Besides, if your process involves the evolution of H2 (acid electrolyte, pH 4 for example) at higher speed (current density or potential) of deposition will be again (as I menioned before) a diifference: working in potentiostatic or galvanostatic experiment.
For this reazon, I suggest to run the cathodic polarization curves as a first step.
