Dear colleagues,

I am trying to treat 55.1c cell lines with palmitic acid which came as a powder.

I found a protocol saying I should incubate palmitic acid with 0.01 N NaOH for 30 mins and complex it with 5% BSA afterwards. This results in a 20 mM solution of palmitic acid which can then be mixed with cell medium.

But mixing it with medium/reaching room temperature makes the palmitic acid turn back into it's solid form floating on the medium...

Has someone experienced this as well?

Is there anything I forgot to do?

Thanks in advance!
