I'm looking for simple ways to conjugate DNA tags to a variety of different proteins. Two possibilities I'm aware of is cloning a fusion protein consisting of the protein of interest bound to a HaloTag, which then binds the DNA sequence, or linking the protein to the respective DNA tag using ribosomal display.
Is someone familiar with other procedures to link DNA to proteins? Perhaps it is possible to couple the DNA to a reactive reagent, which then unspecifically binds certain amino acid side chains?
