How do you prepare sterile dilute HCl solution?

I want to modify the pH of LB broth, but there is of course a concern for contamination.

I diluted HCl in the fume hood using sterile water, but because this was not done in a LAF or aseptically, it has caused contamination in my B. cereus cultures. I believe filter sterilization is unsuitable as this can corrode the filter, while autoclaving is dangerous with acid.

Does anyone know how to sterilize dilute HCl solution? Should I opt for a different type of acid to modify LB broth?
