How do you get SPSS to provide confidence intervals for the standard error of estimate?

I would like to compare a test device against a criterion device. Regression analysis of z-scores in SPSS provides Pearson's correlation values (plus CI's) and a standard error of estimate, but it does not provide CI's for SEE. How can I get SPSS to calcualte/display CI's for SEE?

Are you asking how to get a CI on the estimate itself?. The formula for that is est+/- t*SEE. In general the distribution for SEE is unknown so it is usually not possible to get a CI. If for some reason you really need that you might experiment with a bootstrap. Best, D. Booth
