There are an array of readouts being used like beating, impedance, electrophysiology (action potential), fluorescent dyes for membrane potential and calcium. what's your methods of choice that's most convincing to reviewers? Thanks!

I would personally like to see beating and/or action potential recordings. This will also prove that you have mature cardiomyocytes.

Thanks Refik. To me the biggest challenge deals with the vast heterogeneity among the cells, which is masked by the "global" readout in beating. However AP measurement with patch clamp is just not practical in sampling the entire population of cells. is there any middle ground where you get good single cell readout at large scale?

Thank you Sophia and Saleh. Seems a multi-parameter approach is preferred at the moment, which makes a lot of sense.
On a related subject, how long do you think it will take for stem cells to be accepted as mainstream test models?
