Dear Colleagues,
I happened to get a pretty soiled used centrifuge of this type and simply can't get the rotor out for a thorough cleaning of the machine. Of course, the screw has been removed and I have applied oil and WD45 already for 2 weeks, but it simply does not move a bit, even when applying moderate force.
Anything I could try?
Hi, Wo. I would first spray a bit of WD40 or such in center of the rotor, where the central screw goes in (but at the edges - the liquid have to penetrate contact area). After a bit of waiting (5-10min), I would apply heating from heat gun (or good hairdryer) for 20-30 sec, focusing on the central nut, with slight taping of the rotor with wooden (soft) stick (hammer handle or such). Than I would pray...

Hi Ferdinand, that's what it looks like, the top screw has been removed. The axle (?) is cylindrical.

this ist the same problem i had a few weeks ago....
there are two ways - first thing you have an cap who fits to the outer thread with a screw in the middle - screw it to the thread and then slowly turn the screw in the center till the rotor is free. - second you have access to a roller bearing remover - same principle.

Thanks, Ferdinand, that's what I plan to do when I find something with a tread that fits - it's about 30mm or probably 6/5" (if not something special), not so easy to find in plumbing shops...). I thought of home-brewing one, starting from a T-shaped pipe adapter and then inserting a thick screw through a bore.
Normally service stations have these bearing remover - maybe you can borrow one?
