Normally biomass has a low content of sulfur, but there are some analysis for sulfur in in biomass. The C, H, N and S, or elementary analysis can help you. Or you can see table 15 of our paper Brazilian bio fuel scenario, disponible  in my page on researchgate

Have you managed to solve your problem? Because I have the same!! 

I managed some how as my biomass had zero sulphur. So I input sulphate part as zero. All other was done choosing NC Properties and inputing proximate and ultimate analysis.

If you don't have the Sulfur Analysis, for instance you can assume it zero and you can enter 0 value, It will run your simulation.

I am also trying to simulate a combustion of biomass. Can someone tell me which Property method I should use for the RYield reactor for the decomposition, as I am getting an "PROPERTY PARAMETER ERROR". Thanks alot

The property is method is applied to the whole process simulation itself. There are several property methods that you could use to simulate combustion but the most common ones are : IDEAL and variations of the Peng-Robinson equation of state.

I tried IDEAL method, unfortunately I get the same error. Any idea what I could do wrong?

What coefficients have you specified for HCOALGEN and DCOALIGT?

Do you mean the values for proxanal and ultanal analysis? I tried different values I found in literature, for example:

MOISTURE: 11,7

FC: 14,8

VM: 84,8

ASH: 0,4

ASH: 0,4

C: 51,8

H: 6,2

N: 0,6

S: 0,38

O: 40,06

Or do you mean the option codes for HCOALGEN? I left them at 1 1 1 1

Yes, the option codes. The option 1 1 1 1 is Ok. What about the SULFANAL? What is your input?

Who has experience with balancing RYIELD block in Aspen plus. I keep getting errors that Atom balance are not balanced. though i created a fotran program and a dummy block for this but yet i cant seem to stop getting this warning. anybody with solution to this ?

You should specify your fuel (biomass or coal) as wet basis in RYIELD reactor. And it is also important to write all numbers after the comma.

Kelechi John can I please know if you managed to clear the atomic balance error, because I am facing a similar issue. I have even created a FORTRAN block as well. I am simulating combustion of MSW using ASPEN PLUS. I have mentioned in the RYIELD the mass composition of the C,H,O,S,N,CL,ASH components and connected it to the RGIBBS. I had gotten an error of mass balance, then I introduced a FORTRAN block, still getting error. Any help will be appreciated!

Hi Luis Cutz , when we connect the heat stream from RYield to RGibbs, do we also need to specify the stream specifications (like duty, start temperature, end temperature) or is it calculated automatically? would really appreciate the response
