I specified a sinusoidal loading pattern to the geometry, using a function [x component of load= -45*cos(3600*time)-110].
I want to see after how much time it will fail/deform. The solution displays result after simulating 1 sec of loading.

In your "Analyze settings" you have the possibility to define the simulation time. Standard is 1 s. You can define any time you like. Usually the time stepping is default. You set "Auto Time Stepping" to "Off" and "Defined By" to "Time". Then you can define a minimun, a maximum and a start value do define the resolution of your load function.
I do not know if you can define an ultimate deformation/stress at which the solution is terminated. In ANSYS Mechanical APDL this would be possible but I think not in Workbench.
How did you put in a sinusoidally varying load. Steps please!

In "Details of force" option go for "Definition".
Click on the small arrow on right where you are to specify the x/y/z component and choose function from the list.
Then manually enter the function (see image ANSYS.JPG that is attached).
